From Japanese media reports, Sanyo announced today that its electric vehicles for the production of environmentally friendly lithium-ion batteries are now building a new plant which is completed.

The factory covers an area of 42,831 square meters, whicn was commenced in September last year, and it is expected to cost 130 billion yen, the new plant beginning are one million batteries per month, then the adjustment of production will be according to the market demand.

Sanyo currently supplys NiMH batteries for Ford, Honda and Volkswagen’s hybrid , and with the public to develop lithium-ion batteries used in hybrid cars, and Peugeot Citroen to develop nickel-metal hydride batteries.

Last year in November, using the Sanyo lithium-ion battery system powered Mira EV electric vehicle in the case of one-time charge drove 555.6Km, so access to the Guinness Book of World Records certified. This year in May, the lithium-ion battery system once again to break their own record keeping, adn drive to exercise 1003.184Km.

Organic photovoltaic (Organic photovoltaics, called OPV) developer Solarmer Energy has recently announced its new high efficiency batteries, the conversion rate is up to 8.13% which is through the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) certification. Last year in December, Solarmer company has announced that its plastic organic photovoltaic batteries similar products received the highest conversion rate 7.9%. Company said more than 8% battery  conversion rate for organic optoelectronics industry is a psychological barrier which is insurmountable. With the development of the company can achieve higher conversion rates of new polymer made the record.

Solarmer president Dr. Xie Yongsheng said: “This proves that the OPV technology is expected to be cost-effective and competitive technologies. We re very proud of becoming the first breakthrough in 8% conversion rates. The company is willing to expand with other products technology, packaging and other areas of companies with expertise and jointly to OPV technology to market. our company’s next goal is to get 10 percent conversion rate  before the end of 2011 . “

With lithium-ion rechargeable battery in the popularity of digital products, AAA batteries are gradually being phased out, but there are still some products still continue to use AAA batteries. Abandonment on the environment of this battery is a very serious threat, and now has a new solution.

Brother Industries from Japan (Brother Industries Ltd) introduced a new type of battery Vibration-power Generating Battery (VpGB), can replace AAA batteries. This battery has a small built-in vibration generators, batteries and electrical storage battery by a generator component, can provide less than 100mW power dissipation for the use of electronic products.

The product is expected to be used in TV remote controls, LED lighting, and other low-power products. Using this battery remote control until the remote control can be eliminated or generator damage do not need a new battery, just need to shake it before using it to generate sufficient electricity to replace the TV.

VpGB battery will was showed on 21th to 23th this month, in Tokyo Techno-frontier 2010 at the show on display, then it will cooperate with TV manufacturer for the introduction of “never have to replace the remote control batteries” of TV products.

With the lower prices of wireless technology, wireless has become increasingly popular. But because of power supply  technical, wireless mouse must be equipped with battery, with the increased use of battery, recycling issue became prominent, there are enthusiastic early users called battery recycling system, make the trip.

Pollution and waste battery treatment has become the social focus of most environmental concerns. The persons of State Environmental Protection Administration and Technology Standards concerned that, with our battery types, production and use continues to expand, the number and types of used batteries have also increased. Used batteries contain mercury, lead, cadmium, nickel and other heavy metals and acid and alkali electrolyte solution, human and ecological environment have different degrees of damage. It is understood that one of the hazards to human health and the environment is big, included in the list of hazardous waste control of waste batteries are: mercury-containing batteries, mainly mercuric oxide batteries; lead-acid batteries; cadmium batteries, mainly nickel-cadmium batteries.

Sanyo (Sanyo) Electric Company  announced the expansion of its plant in Nishikinohama and Shiga (Shiga) solar module factory capacity to meet Japan’s strong demand for solar battery modules in June 16th, 2010.

Because government subsidies to install solar energy facilities, implementation, and government incentives to buy solar power, solar power generation market in Japan is rapidly expanding.

Sanyo Electric has plans to turn HIT solar battery production capacity almost doubled, from 300MW to March 2011 to 600MW.

Nishikinohama plant capacity is 35MW, has recently increased to 40MW.

Shiga (Shiga) plant capacity is 100MW, to March 2011 an additional 100MW.

However, in order to meet the strong growth in demand in Japan, one additional is 50MW, to achieve the total capacity is 250MW.

Sanyo HIT solar battery company has two production bases: Nishikinohama factories and Shimane SANYO Electric (ShimaneSanyoElectric) company, on the other hand, solar module production in these two locations, as well as in Hungary and Mexico, two production bases overseas.

In the first half of this year, a total of Zibo, Shandong Entry-exit Inspection approved battery 56, the value is 2.19 million U.S. dollars, up respectively to 64.7% and 221.6% growth. Zibo Storage Battery Export growth was significant.

Zibo is important to China’s product development lead-acid battery production base, but direct exports is less . Lead-acid battery is the implementation of license management, Zibo Exit Inspection and Quarantine actively help the company be familiar with the export regulations and export policies and regulations, the quality of the goods for export as early as possible to remind the business license. There are two companies have already successfully obtained export quality license.

Hitachi Ltd automotive business unit of energy can be disruptive in the crowded automotive battery market success is due to its strong track record of lithium-ion battery and can be even closer to win new orders, the company’s automotive business unit of energy head said last Thursday.

Combining four key major automotive market hybrid vehicles, rechargeable hybrid vehicles and electric vehicles sales — in China, the United States, Japan and Europe market — in the next decade within the time is expected to reach five times of the current sales, according to Japan’s Nomura Research Institute, Nomura Research Institute, said the case, which leads to the rapid demand for batteries.

However, this rapid development of the battery market is attracting an increasingly tough competitive situation , while competitors include Hitachi has established such a sound, such as the Japanese electronics manufacturer Matsushita, Panasonic, NEC, Toshiba and Toshiba South Korea’s LG Chem and LG has just started like the United States and other clean energy holding company Ener1.

Hitachi Vehicle Energy Hitachi Vehicle Energy’s President Masafumi Yuhara expressed that “the current number of battery manufacturers are too many. We are in competition to see who we will be able to survive in this competition.”

In April this year, Masafumi Yuhara last Thursday in an interview with Reuters  said that the company has the records showed the company to fierce competition in this race to win.

Recently, Taiwan’s Neo Solar Power Inc. (NSP) announced that it will expand its annual output to 800MW to meet the needs of European outsourcing market. It is understood that, NSP’s existing annual production is 240MW.

In early 2009, as demand increases and the foreseeable surge in orders of 2010 , NSP’s decisides to increase its production in 2010 to 600MW. However, face to the European PV market, strong demand growth in manufacturing, NSP final decision on its production in 2010 increased is 800MW.

According to statistics, before the development of the production provided by the 360MW to 600MW of the project is expected to spend about 27 billion new Taiwan dollars (about 84.5 million U.S. dollars); the new 200MW scheme will be re-consumed nearly 1.4 billion capital investment of NT .

Recently, NSP company reported earnings of two months of 2010 reached 1.879 million Taiwan dollars (about 58.8 million U.S. dollars), up the previous year, an increase is 51%. The company’s shipments in 2009 reached 200MW, it is expected to reach 400  to 500MW this year. It is understood that, NSP will also committed to improve the battery in 2010, the average conversion efficiency, the company plans to multi-crystalline solar batteries, the average conversion efficiency is 17.2%, while the average single crystal solar battery conversion efficiency is 18.5%.
