The world’s largest solar cell factory

Neo Solar has started to construct the world’s largest solar cell manufacturing plant. According to published reports, this plant is located in southern Taiwan, and it will become the company’s third battery plant. Its total capacity is planning to be about 3.4GW.

The company said it plans to add 620MW production capacity to 800MW at the end of 2010, the initial phase of 400 MW plant will be completed in the first half of 2011.

Kun Xilin, chairman of the new daylight, said he expects the battery will maintain the current price stability, the company’s 25% -30% of the raw material prices is determined by the previous contractual agreement, in NeoSolar spot market the price to purchase U.S. silicon is about $ 50 – $55/kg.

Neo Solar Power ranks only second to Gintech Energy Corporation in first half of 2010, its revenues is NT 7.49 billion yuan, increasing 96.1% comparing to last year. Its after-tax profits is 1.31billion NT.
