Nigeria’s National Science and Engineering Infrastructure Authority (National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure, NASENI) has revealed plans to build a 7.5MW Abuja Karshi solar panel manufacturing plant, so that Nigeria can no longer rely on imported solar batteries board. The project is funded by anonymous foreign joint venture partners, investment and development.
NASENI said the plant could help reduce Nigeria’s dependence on imported solar panels, but also to promote solar street lighting, water pumping for irrigation, substations, traffic lights, and small farm machinery development. Global photovoltaic net
NBF Topics reported that, NASENI Olusegun Adewoye said the head of the testing phase and the plant is ready to begin operations. Adewoye said: “Government investment in such a project because we can raise funds on their own in the market, we will purchase raw materials and finished products of private business.” Global Photovoltaic Network.
